Oak Island Sea Turtle Program

Beginning in May of each year, volunteers begin searching for turtle nests and when one is found, the eggs are located, and if in an unsafe location the nest is carefully moved for protection and monitoring during incubation until hatching. There are 180+ volunteers who are dedicated to monitoring and protecting the sea turtle population here at Oak Island.
