Oak Island Dog-friendly Rentals

Coastal Resort Vacations offers a wide selection of dog-friendly rentals in Oak Island so you can enjoy your stay with all members of your family. Our dog-friendly vacation rentals can accommodate groups of all sizes and welcome one to three well-behaved dogs. Oak Island Dog Rules

Oak Island allows dogs on the beach year round but does have a leash law. All dogs must be properly leashed while enjoying the sun and surf. Be sure to bring a bag to dispose of your dogs waste. Many accesses have dispensers with plastic bags available if you forget. Dogs are allowed off of their leash and permitted to run free on the beach beginning October 15th until March 15th.  

 

Dog Parks

Hannah A. Templeton Park is a passive natural park and dog park along Oak Island Drive between 41st and 42nd streets east. This park was preserved in 2006 in an effort to protect the oak trees on the land and now welcomes visitors with their furry friends.

Salty Dog Park - William ‘Bill’ Smith Park is a spacious park where your furry friends can roam and run around. The park is separated into two sections, with one for dogs less than 25 pounds and the other for larger breeds. The perimeter of the park is lined with a six-foot fence so you can feel confident your pooch is secure.

Service Animals & Emotional Support Animals

If you are traveling with a service dog, Coastal Vacation Resorts waives our normal pet fees in accordance with the ADA regulations and Federal Fair Housing Laws. A service dog, as defined by the American Disabilities Act (ADA) is a dog that has been specifically trained to assist with tasks or work for a person with a disability. We obey all service animal regulations with documentation.

Resources for ADA information: Requirements for Service Animals & Service Animals FAQ. Emotional support dogs, however, are not trained to accomplish specific tasks or jobs for a person and are intended to provide comfort to an individual. You are more than welcome to bring your emotional support dog to our pet-friendly rentals, but keep in mind that fees are not waived.

Oak Island Dog-Friendly Rentals

Are dogs allowed at all properties?

Dogs are allowed only at designated Dog Friendly properties. Limits apply per household for one to three dogs permitted unless approved by the homeowner.

Is there an extra charge to bring my dog?

A non-refundable dog fee plus tax will be required before check-in. This dog fee is for additional cleaning, flea spray, etc. A Security Deposit is required for most dog-friendly houses.

Properties That Don't Allow Pets

If a dog is found on premises that do not allow dogs, your rental right will be terminated immediately with no refund of rental monies. You will also be required to pay a dog fee. This policy is strictly enforced.

(Important Information: We reserve the right to refuse occupancy, if in the agent’s opinion, occupancy is detrimental to the property. Guest who exceed the occupancy limits will face immediate termination of the rental with no refund of rental monies paid. There are things out of our control, examples which DO NOT warrant refunds include: breakdown of air conditioners, TVs, appliances, bad weather, noisy neighbors, etc. Please know the “Guest of Record” will be required to pay for any and all damage which occurs during their occupancy. All damage must reported immediately.)
